Kaleno chat welcome with a “Which neighborhoods fit my commute?” suggestion.

From your first wishlist to booking tours, Kaleno helps you find places that fit, weigh your options and handle property follow-up. You decide which place becomes home.

Kaleno is an AI apartment search agent that does the apartment-finding legwork for you. You give it your list of what you want, and it finds places available now that fit, helps you weigh the trade-offs, handles your questions to properties, keeps track of every reply and makes it easy to book tours. We call that zero-scroll search.

Most people start an apartment search with a list. Two bedrooms, under a certain number, somewhere walkable, that’s dog friendly, maybe in-unit laundry if you're lucky. The list is the easy part. What you don't have yet is a feel for where your money goes furthest, what's actually available this month, how the trade-offs stack up and the things you haven't thought to ask about at all.

Here's how the work splits:

What you share or decide

What Kaleno handles

Your list, must-haves and nice-to-haves together

Finds places available now that fit and explains why each one made the cut

What's changed as you look

Updates the next round of options, with no filters to rebuild

Which homes to pursue, whether to apply and which tours to book

Handles property conversations after your first message, follows up and tracks replies

How Do You Find Apartments That Fit Your List?

Kaleno finds apartments that fit your list by treating your must-haves as requirements and using the rest to rank what's left. Tell it the list in your own words and it brings back places available now, each with a short explanation of why it made the cut. That's normally the first big chunk of legwork, the filters, the scrolling, the tabs, and Kaleno takes it on. It tends to get there quickly: for most renters who've signed a lease through Kaleno as of October 2026, it suggested the place they ended up renting within their first 30 minutes.

Give it the must-haves and the nice-to-haves together. As of October 2026, nearly half of beta renters who used Kaleno’s conversational search shared or discovered preferences beyond budget, location and bedroom count. Those are the details that surface places a filter would have missed. Along the way, Kaleno fills in what the list leaves out:

  • Where your list goes furthest. The neighborhoods and buildings that match the most of what you want at your budget, and the options that get you closest if one thing has some give.

  • What's out there now. Places that are actually available for your move-in date, so you're not falling for a listing that went last Tuesday.

  • The trade-offs. Whether a bit more commute buys you the extra room, or the balcony is worth $150 a month to you.

  • What you didn't know to ask. Things worth checking that weren't on your list, like whether parking costs extra or what's actually included in the rent.

Kaleno’s beta results reported in October 2026 show that renters who share more detailed preferences contact properties at about three and a half times the rate of renters who share only basic preferences. And when your list changes, which it will, Kaleno keeps up. Say "actually, somewhere quieter" and the next round reflects it.

How Do You Compare Apartments When Each One Wins on Something Different?

Kaleno compares your top apartments by laying out the trade-offs between them in plain terms, tied back to what you said mattered. Once you're down to four or five, that's where it earns its keep.

It remembers the preferences you've shared, including the thing you mentioned once on day two and forgot about, and spells it out: this one's ten minutes closer to work, that one is fine with your dog, the third has the light you keep coming back to. Every recommendation comes with its reasoning, so you can see when it's got you right and correct it when it hasn't.

Can an AI Contact Apartments and Book Tours for You?

Yes. With Kaleno, you write the first message and choose "Let Kaleno handle it" to delegate the replies and follow-up. You can also book tours through Kaleno.

That's the bit nobody enjoys. The listing says "pet friendly" and doesn't say whether that covers a 60-pound dog. It doesn't say if parking's included or whether you can move in on the 15th. Somebody has to ask, wait, follow up and read the reply, and usually that somebody is you, in between everything else you've got going on.

Here's how it works with Kaleno:

  1. Send your question. Write your question about the dog policy, parking or move-in date, then check "Let Kaleno handle it." Kaleno sends the message as you wrote it.

  2. Let Kaleno track the replies. It handles the property's follow-up questions, chases them if they go quiet and tells you when it needs your input. You can check the status of any conversation and take it over at any time.

  3. Book the tour. Tap "Book tour" on the listing. Some properties confirm a time on the spot; others take your preferred times and reach out to confirm, and the screen shows you which.

On days with activity, one email sums up replies, follow-up progress and anything that needs your attention, so you don't have to check back. As of October 2026, half of the emails sent to properties through Kaleno during its beta were sent by its AI Contacting feature on renters’ behalf.

That's the job of the renter's agent: working for you while you get on with your life.

Can You Trust AI to Help Find an Apartment?

Kaleno is built so you can review its recommendations and property conversations, and keep control of your decisions. Finding a home is a big decision, and handing any of it over should feel earned. Here's what you can see for yourself:

  • It shows its working. Every place on your shortlist comes with the reasons it's there, tied back to what you told it. If the reasoning's off, you'll see it and you can correct it.

  • You can review property conversations. Open any conversation Kaleno is handling to see where it stands, and take it over whenever you like.

  • It's straight with you about where things stand. A confirmed tour looks different from a request still waiting on the property, and Kaleno tells you when a conversation needs your input.

  • You make the calls. Which places to see, whether to apply, which one becomes home: those stay with you. Kaleno handles the work around those decisions.

Can You Search for an Apartment With a Partner or Roommate?

Yes. Households of up to 4 renters can run a shared search via Together Mode.

Together Mode makes staying in sync easy. Send an invite to your co-renters and when they join, you’ll have a shared shortlist where you can keep track of who in your household has favorited each property and leave comments on them for the rest of the household to see.

To help stay on top of things, when you come back for your next Kaleno visit, you’ll be greeted with any new favorites or comments from your household. No more searching across texts, emails and DMs for links, just one shared shortlist.

How Do You Get Started With AI Apartment Search?

Tell Kaleno exactly what you’re looking for and see what comes back. Read the reasons next to each place. If the first round doesn't feel like you, tell it why and watch the next round get closer.

As you work out what matters, Kaleno helps you compare the options and handles the property follow-up. You decide which homes are worth pursuing.
